New in Aiir: Navigation improvements
We’ve made some changes to a few parts of Aiir’s platform, that we hope will help you find things easier.
These changes affect Blogs, Photo Albums, Podcasts, Events and News.
As an example, here’s how the top of the Podcasts homepage looked before these changes:
Our support team were often asked:
“How do I change the order of the podcasts?”
The answer was to tap “Stations” at the top, select a station, and then you would see a page where you can add, remove and re-order podcasts for that station.
There’s some logic to this — you can have different podcasts appearing on different stations, and set them in a different order. You can also edit some settings that apply to each station. So “Stations” seemed like the right place for all of that to live.
The problem was, nobody knew to click “Stations” to find all of that.
What people were looking for was to change the order of the podcasts, or edit the settings for podcast pages, but there wasn’t a button labelled either of those things.
We set about to fix this, and here’s how things look now:
You’ll notice:
- Instead of “Stations”, we’ve now got “Settings”
- There’s a new “Change order of Podcasts” button
When you tap on either of these, we’ll first ask you which station you want to affect.
If there’s only one station in your organisation and you have access to it, you’ll skip this step.
You’ll find the same changes at the top of the Blogs and Photo Albums sections.
Over in News, we’ve applied the same principle to the Categories page:
We’ve removed “Stations” from the menu here too. One of the reasons you might have clicked this before was to edit settings for the news index page. So instead, you’ll find a new “Index Page” tab in the Settings section:
And in the Events section, we’ve simplified the main menu by removing “Stations”, and made this page accessible from the Calendars page instead. Just click the button labelled “Change calendars on stations”.
We hope these changes make it easier to find what you’re looking for in Aiir.
